Bro. Barry and Sis. Becky Coffey

Bro. Barry Coffey, born and raised in Newfoundland, Canada, gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized in 1979.  He met Sis. Becky in 1983 and they were married in Virginia in 1984.  They lived in Newfoundland for only a short time before moving to Ohio to pastor Spoken Word Fellowship Church, a position he held for the next 16 years.  He and Sis. Becky have raised four boys, who all are serving the Lord. In 2000, they felt the leading of the Lord to move to Virginia so that Bro. Barry could spend some dedicated time working in overseas missions.  In 2005, Bro. Barry was invited to minister at Hickory Bible Tabernacle, in Hickory, NC.  From that first meeting, a relationship began and soon the Believers felt the Lord’s leading to choose him to become their pastor.  He still has a heart for missions, and with help of the local church has supported many endeavors for the Lord in foreign lands.
Bro. Barry has always emphasized a balanced approach to ministry including teaching on character, family, marriage and reaching beyond the walls of our church helping to spread the Message of the Hour worldwide. Our Church has grown over the past few years, both in numbers and in grace and knowledge, “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for ever.” II Peter 3:18

We have been at Hickory Bible Tabernacle since before Bro Barry became the pastor and at the time there were only about 20-25 people attending the church.  Since that time we have been so blessed to see the church not only grow in number, but also spiritually.  Our heart is blessed to see so many people receiving the strength they need on this journey toward the rapture.

Bro. Tom and Sis. Kim Ward

By His grace and through His leading we moved from Arizona to North Carolina in June 2007 to attend Hickory Bible Tabernacle. I have 1 son, 3 daughters, 5 grandchildren, and my wife, Kimberly. In 2008 I became a deacon and consider it an honor and privilege to serve the body of our Lord Jesus Christ in our local assembly.

Bro. Mike and Sis. Angela Pritchard

Our family came to Hickory Bible Tabernacle in February, 2009. God is using Bro. Barry’s ministry to strengthen, change and mold us. We have been spiritually blessed and our lives enriched by serving with this wonderful group of christian brothers and sisters. We thank God for his grace that led us here. It was the right step in the journey toward our eternal goal.

Librarian

Sis. Frieda Drum

Sister Frieda Drum is the Librarian at Hickory Bible Tabernacle.  She and her husband Brother Joseph Drum have attended the church since January 2008.  They enjoy communion with the Lord Jesus Christ and the fellowship with the Believers that HBT provides.
